At Saltwater Lodge we believe that local community is important and we are proud to be actively associated with several companies from the area. Below are a few of the people that we are connected with and we are always looking for more possibilities for the future.

El Cafe

A local cafe which has excellent feedback from customers and provides a great feast for everyone. We recommend this cafe to anyone in our hostel and will arrange a catered BBQ night for groups of guests, which has proven to be a favourite of our guests.

Eagles Golfing Society

The Eagles Golfing Society of New Zealand has supported the Halberg Trust for more than 40 years. Enabling the Trust to remove barriers and enable youngsters with a disabilty the opportunity to participate within sport and to get active alongside their young friends. At Saltwater, we have actively enagaed with the Society to help support them within their competitions and sporting events.

Bay of Islands Country Rock Festival

The Festival is over 25 years old and has evolved over the years with 250 musicians now enjoying a fun weekend of music, entertaining over 1300 appreciative fans in 2014. The Lodge has participated with them during their growth and is now a constant fixture in the calendar.

Moerewa Christian Fellowship Youth Centre

We donate used furniture and equipment to the youth centre which empowers and enables them to raise money and provide for the youth centre. The centre provides a safe environment for young people to relax and have fun, but also to learn life skills such as Drama and Photography.
